My Story
Early On
I grew up at the base of the Appalachian Mountains in Virginia. At 11 years old, in 6th grade, I had hand traced maps of Canada, Tom Brown Jr's Wilderness Survival Guide and my check lists in my backpack. My Goal was to go live in the Canadian Wilderness after I graduated. I was so convincing with my plan that my 6th grade English teacher was buying me Gary Paulsen books about Up North.
At 13 I wrote a 170 page manuscript about a boy that ran away to a canyon in The West. Breaking wild horses and living off the land was the theme.

Kosovo
I joined the Virginia Army National Guard in 1999. The Infantry. The only choice in my opinion. 9/11 happened. My first deployment was Cuba. My second was Kosovo.
That was my eye opener. That's what brought me back to Wilderness Survival as a whole.
It was an entire region of depleted natural resource but full of resilient people. There was no game besides rodents. It was gone. These people grew their crops and raised well guarded mixed flocks of animals. The entire Community worked together to Survive. I formed the opinion that Wilderness Survival is the absolute Core of Survival and anything built on top of that can only make your situation better.
Mountain King Survival
Kosovo was 16 years ago now. In 2016 I made Mountain King Survival on Facebook. I worked out of that group for years before taking it to the next level. In 2019 I filmed for the Discovery Channel Show "100 Days Wild", in Alaska, that aired in the fall of 2020. I finally got the Test that I had always wanted. I learned a lot from that experience.
Over time I have developed my own methods of Long Term Survival Methods based off of my experiences. I have 8 book titles that I want to write and I have several products that I'm developing that I hope will help people, in their situations, all across the World.
