Why augers in bushcraft?

Years ago, I created a kit that I call The Kit Of Steel.  In my experience is was the types of steel in your kit that determined the longevity of your kit.

My Primary tools are my Knife, Axe, Saw and Augers.  Augers have been used for centuries to build homes, ships, furniture and beyond!  It gives you the ability to pin beams together, tap Maple trees for sugar, inoculate logs with mycelium plugs for mushrooms and create complex tools!  It gives you the option to utilize the resources in your natural environment to their maximum potential when it comes to construction.

I designed the MKS Auger Adapter to utilize the same brace bits that have been used for centuries.  They are made to be sharpened and maintained in the field, unlike the modern highspeed disposable bits.  You can carry as many or as few bits as you like, of multiple diameters, for different projects.  There is absolutely no modification to the bits so they can be utilized in your brace later back at base camp!
